Terminology

Energy Efficiency: Net Zero/Net Zero Ready

Net Zero is defined by the U.S. Department of Energy as "a home or building that creates/offsets as much energy as it uses on an annual basis."

Net Zero Ready is defined bu US DOE as "a home or building that has been constructed or retrofitted to easily incorporate advanced technology to make it Net Zero. This is done through better design and construction to reduce the demand for energy." (This is our minimum standard!)

Resilient/Resiliency

Resilient Construction is defined by FEMA as "The Practice of using construction materials and techniques that increase a structures ability to withstand adverse weather (or other) conditions."

Off-site Construction:

We have the ability to Engineer and build in a controlled environment off site, where weather and site issues do not affect us. This also actually saves time (time is money!) and helps with quality control during the construction process! We are able to construct a home or building to the "whitebox" stage: where the sub-floors. walls, roof (envelope) are completed through drywall & prime coat of paint and Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing rough ins are completed. It can be delivered to the site, set on the completed foundation and weathered in for on-site completion by our crews, or yours! (Hello DIY-ers!). This dramatically reduces exposure and delays due to weather, etc...
